Below are competition fixtures for All sections

For any Ladies not able to play this coming Tuesday, scores may be entered as an Alternate Day card this Sunday. (See this coming Tuesday's fixture for details of this competition). There are no set times for the alternate day, the competition may be played at any time by signing up on BRS. The scorecard must be marked by another fully paid up member of BFGC, Lady or Gentleman. The marker doesn't need to be playing in the competition.

A Lady can't compete twice in the same competition by entering an alternate day card and a Tuesday card. The alternate day competition will be closed and then merged with results on the following Tuesday to determine prizes.

This week's 18 hole competition is the club Coronation Foursomes, leading to possible qualification for the R&A Coronation Foursomes. This is a Stableford pairs competition, handicap allowance 1/2 of the combined total. There is no handicap index limit for the club competition, but a limit of 40 applies for the possible qualification to the R&A competition.

Entry fee for the club competition is £2.50 per player (£5.00 per pair). Additional entry cost for the R&A Coronation foursomes as advised by R&A, currently an additional £4.00 per pair. Please mark clearly on your scorecard if you are entering the R&A competition also. Club foursomes winners qualify for an area final if their score is one of the 100 best returned scores in the area. The winners will also receive an R&A memento. Prizes are awarded to 1st and 2nd for the Club competition.

There is also a concurrent 9 hole stableford competition.

Singles Medal White Tees 95% Handicap (Q)

This Competition will be in 2 Divisions
Division 1          0 - 16 playing handicap
Division 2             17+ playing handicap

This is a qualifying competition for handicap purposes.

Please book your tee time via BRS normally for Thursday.

Obtain your scorecard from the Pro shop and sign in to the competition on the How Did I Do system before you tee off

This will enter you into the comp and deduct the entry fee from your competition purse. Please ensure you have sufficient funds in your purse. 

Enter full names and handicaps on your scorecard and exchange it with a partner for scoring purposes. At the end of the round. check your card and score, ensuring the Player and Scorer sign it.

Enter your score electronically into the How Did I Do system 

Place the signed scorecard into the SENIORS letter box in the Players Lounge in the Club House

ALL OTHER CARDS WILL BE DISREGARDED.

Men's medal from the White tees.

Playing Handicap (strokes received) = 95% of Course Handicap.  

As an Honours Board event, there will be a maximum of 22 Playing Handicap applied in working out the winner of the trophy. To win the trophy at least 3 qualifier competition scores must have been made during the last 12 months prior to this competition. No handicap limit applies for all divisional prizes. 

Qualifies for the Chambers Quaich order of merit for top 30 placings in Honours Board events throughout the season for which there is no separate entry fee.

Qualifies for the Men's Eclectic (best gross and nett scores at each hole over all Thursday and Saturday Medals to October) and the Gosling Cup (best 6 aggregate gross and net rounds over the same events) for which there is no separate entry fee.

Record the gross score on each hole. The Competition Committee will make any required adjustments for the 22 shot limit.

Sign in via the clubhouse terminals before commencing your round for entry to the competition.

ENTER SCORES ONLINE on completion of your round and then post your completed and signed card in the Men's/Mixed Comps post box.

This week's competition is an 18 hole Stableford and, in addition, those ladies aged 65 or over are eligble to enter the Veterans' Cup. Maximum handicap index of 30 for the cup only. Normal standard entry fee of £2.50 applies for the competition plus an additional £1.00 to enter the Vets Cup. Please mark clearly on the scorecard if you are entering the Vets Cup.

The winner of the Vets Cup receives the cup presented by Mrs Daisy Brampton in 1957. There are also prizes awarded to second best veteran and to best 75+ veteran. Normal prize structure for the weekly Stableford competition also applies (1st and 2nd in each division where positions not taken by vets cup prizes above)

There is also a concurrent 9 hole Stableford competition.

This week's competitions are an 18 hole Stableford and a concurrent 9 hole stableford competition to celebrate Lady Captain's Day. There is no entry fee for these competitions. The overall winner of the 18 hole Stableford regardless of divsion, but off a maximum handicap index of 30, receives the Lady Captain's Salver. Other prizes are awarded at the discretion of the Lady Captain

Ladies Medal competition, 36 holes over 2 days. Book for Saturday only and you will be entered for the Sunday without the need for separate booking or sign in. Ladies time slots for play are from 12.30pm to 12.50pm and follow directly on from the Mens Carlisle Benson timeslots. Entry fee is £5.00 and will be charged on sign in on day 1. Scores must be returned online for both days, with signed cards posted in the Ladies letterbox.

Playing handicap (strokes received) = 95% of course handicap

The club champion is the player with the lowest gross (scratch) score over the 36 holes. A prize is also awarded for the best Net champion and (subject to number of entries) to best Saturday and best Sunday score. No one player will receive more than one prize (that is if the best gross is also the best net over 2 days then the 2nd best net will receive a prize).  There is no handicap limit entry for the net Championship.

Men's medal from the White tees. 36 holes over 2 days. Trophy presentations will take place after completion of round 2 on the Sunday at around 5pm.

Book for Saturday only and you will be entered for the Sunday without any need for separate booking or sign in.  Entry fees of £6 covering the Scratch Cup and Carlisle Benson Trophy will be charged on sign in on day 1 and scores must be returned online for both days, with signed cards to be posted to the Comps post box.

Tee times on BRS are approximate for booking purposes only and, in keeping with tradition, a draw will be made for tee times and playing partners, with every effort being made to allocate a tee time within an hour of the time booked on BRS.  The tee sheet will be locked at 23.59 on Wednesday 25th June to allow the draw to be published, so please book early.   Play will be in 3 balls to reflect the special nature of this event.

The Scratch Cup is awarded to the best 2 round gross score, plus prizes for the top 3 gross scores overall.

The Scratch Cup is awarded to the best 2 round gross score.

Trophy winners must have played in at least 3 qualifier competitions in the last 12 months prior to this competition. Playing Handicap (strokes received) = 95% of Course Handicap.  

In addition, prizes will be awarded for the best nett and best gross score on each day for players not already in the main prizes.

This is a shotgun start over 18 holes, and you will be drawn for a partner and a starting hole

Obtain your scorecard from the Pro shop on Thursday and tell the Pro you are playing in the seniors' comp.
Before playing, we would ask all members to sign in individually via HowDidiDo on the computer or your phone.
The comp on HowDidiDo will say 'Singles Stableford', but this is just to collect the entry fee.


Enter full names and handicaps on your scorecard and exchange it with the other pair for scoring purposes.
At the end of the round check your card and score, and make sure it is signed by the Player and Scorer.
DO NOT ENTER YOUR SCORES ONTO THE COMPUTER.

Please remove the bottom section from your scorecard and bring it into the clubhouse.

There is also a concurrent 9 hole Stableford competition, which includes a Grannies Cup for those ladies who are Grandmothers. Normal standard entry fee of £1.50 applies plus an additional £1.00 to enter the 9 hole Grannies Cup. Please mark clearly on the scorecard if you are entering the cup. There is no handicap limit for the 9 hole cup. The winner received the cup presented by Mrs M Daws in 1978. Normal prize structure also applies for other positions not taken by the cup winner.
